Rule
#1
One is none,
Two is one,
Three is plenty,
Four is heavy.
This
basically means that whatever you carry in sets of threes or twos. If you only
have one of the types of item you will most likely lose it or forget it and
have to go without. I added the three and four as they are saying that I made
in cadets down in St Lucia to teach my friends how to pack their bag for either
a two day camp or two week camp. Three being if it fits take it because it will
make your life much easier without weighing you down. (Especially uniforms.
They’re big and bulky. You choose three and leave the rest home. So one, for field
work, one, for drill and one for PT). Four is basically like carrying dead
weight you will most likely never use it and if you do you will most likely
forget it. (Best leave that pillow at home guys you have enough to worry about
if a survival situation ever occurs.
Notice I
said badly not dire. Not everything is the end of the world sometimes we forget
that getting stuck in the rain with your electronics or books in your bag, or
forgetting your wallet is much more common and just as bad (ok maybe not just
as bad but come on guys just imagine your phone dies, its rainy and there is nowhere
for you to shelter. Do have coins to use the payphone? Do have a plastic bag to
wrap your electronics in?All these question should have been answered before you left the house).
